That sinking feeling when you hear the scrape… and see the mark. Yep, your fridge just got its first battle scar.
Before you start panicking or calling every appliance repair service in town, take a breath. I’ve been exactly where you are right now, staring at that annoying scratch and wondering if it’s ruined forever.
Spoiler alert: it’s probably fixable, and way easier than you think.

Two Types of Scratches (That’s All You Need to Know)
Light scratches – Can’t feel them with your fingernail? You’re golden.
Deep scratches – If your nail catches, you’ve got work to do.

The Fixes (Actually Simple)
Stainless Steel
Light scratch: Stainless steel cleaner + microfiber cloth. Rub WITH the grain, not against it. Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner works great if you want a specific rec.
Deep scratch: Fine sandpaper (go with the grain!), then clean it up with the cleaner method.
You can also watch this old youtube video, it works for a lot of guys still today- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOmUran35dE
White/Colored Fridges
Get touch-up paint from an appliance store. Clean the area, let it dry, then paint in thin layers.

When to Just Call Someone
If it’s a huge gouge or you’re afraid you’ll make it worse, just call a pro. Your sanity is worth the $150-300.
Real Talk
I obsessed over a tiny scratch for months. Guests never even noticed it. Sometimes the best fix is just accepting that appliances get used and show it.
But if it’s really bugging you, the methods above work. Just don’t rush it. Cheers!
